WHAT IS CAHO NUCLEOTIDE DERIVED FROM?
CAHO NUCLEOTIDE is a natural hydrolysed yeast supplement formulated by veterinarians. The inactivated yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) used in CAHO Nucleotide contains high concentration of nucleotides which are released from 100% natural yeast cells via a hydrolysis process. No animal ingredients are used in CAHO Nucleotide.
WHAT ARE NUCLEOTIDES AND WHY ARE THEY IMPORTANT FOR MY PET'S HEALTH?
Nucleotides are the basic building blocks of DNA and RNA, which are found in all body cells and tissues. Animals obtain nucleotides from the food that they eat. However, during periods of stress and rapid growth, the body's demand for nucleotides increases due to increased cellular damages and the need to produce new cells or conduct tissues repair. Additional dietary source of nucleotides help meet the physiological and environmental demands of your pets.
WHAT ARE THE MAIN FUNCTIONS OF CAHO NUCLEOTIDE?
An animal requires higher amounts of nucleotides during periods of high physiological stress hence CAHO Nucleotide provides an additional dietary source of nucleotides to help when/during:
Growth and development stages of a young animal
Recovering from an infection or medical procedure
Unable to receive adequate essential nutrients (i.e. malnutrition) due to poor diet or digestive issues
DO MY PET NEED NUCLEOTIDE WHEN THEY ARE HEALTHY? AND WHY?
Yes, supplements such as dietary nucleotides are essential maintenance by promoting healthy gut microbial growth and providing the building blocks essential to support the continual cell renewal and repair of the gut lining. CAHO Nucleotide has proved to support and renew pet's gut system, thereby increasing nutrients absorption and heightening immunity.
IS IT THE SAME AS PROBIOTICS?
Although probiotics and nucleotides both promote healthy gut microbial growth, they are not the same. Nucleotides has an additional function of providing the building blocks essential to support gastrointestinal tissue integrity and repair, thereby reducing the chances of harmful bacteria invading the gastrointestinal tissues.
CAN CAHO NUCLEOTIDES REPLACE PROBIOTICS?
If your pet is already on probiotics, we suggest NOT to eliminate the probiotics that it is on, but to use CAHO Nucleotide as a complementary supplement. Please consult your veterinarian if the probiotics is prescribed for a medical condition.
IS CAHO NUCLEOTIDE RECOMMENDED FOR MY PET WITH SENSITIVE STOMACH?
CAHO Nucleotide can be used as a supplement to support recovery and maintenance of gut health, but not as a medication to cure gastrointestinal problems. A pet with gastrointestinal problems should always seek veterinary attention to treat the medical cause of its condition. If unsure, always consult a veterinarian prior to feeding any supplement to your pets.
IS CAHO NUCLEOTIDE RECOMMENDED FOR MY PET WHICH HAS SENSITIVE SKIN OR HAS YEAST DERMATITIS?
CAHO Nucleotide can help support better skin health by providing the building blocks required for repair and growth of skin cells. A healthy skin barrier protects an animal against skin infections by bacteria, yeast or irritations from allergens. Skin sensitivities can be due to many causes such as allergies (food, contact, atopy), bacteria, parasites or yeast infection. An animal with skin problems should always seek veterinary attention to treat the medical cause of its condition.
WILL CAHO NUCLEOTIDE RESULT IN YEAST DERMATITIS IN MY PET?
Yeast dermatitis in pets are usually caused by Malassezia. The yeast that is used to produce CAHO Nucleotide is Saccharomyces cerevisiae, which does not cause yeast dermatitis in pets. Furthermore, CAHO Nucleotide is a hydrolysed and inactivated product.
IS CAHO NUCLEOTIDE RECOMMENDED FOR DAILY & LONG TERM USE FOR MY PET?
Yes, CAHO Nucloetide is natural and can be a daily supplement to support and improve your pet's overall health and vitality. Like any other vitamins/minerals supplements, it can be included in you pet's daily diet consumed over a period of time. Also, effects of CAHO Nucleotide are typically observed after a month of administration. Some animals may show results earlier.
